We had times tickets for the Van Gogh Museum but they let us in early. This museum always takes awhile to get through because it covers all the phases of his artistic life but now there is a temporary exhibit of the influence Japanese art had on his later work. He owned over 600 Japanese prints which he studied and even copied some of them until he could incorporate some of the techniques in his own work. The media tour for both buildings was well done.
It's Saturday and early in the day, cyclists and walkers were ambling along but now it's much more crowded on the streets. Crossing the bike lanes is always dangerous, partly because motorcycles and scooters use them, too.
Vondel Park was bustling. We sat there for awhile, eating Amsterdam hot dogs and paninis and people watching.

After a brief rest, I went to the Banksy and Lichtenstein exhibit at MOCO, the museum of contemporary art. It's a newer museum that just has exhibits. Very small but crowded even in the late afternoon. It's sweltering here so I hurried through it. And yes you exit through the gift shop.

Mickey and Lola went to the Anne Frank house. The museum is being renovated in parts so they strictly adhere to the entry times and number of people inside. The entryway and the museum part is being expanded to accommodate larger groups, especially schoolchildren. The climb to the top is steep and a little difficult to navigate but the actual rooms will never be renovated.
For Mickey's last night, we went to the most famous Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam, Max. While we waited for a taxi, I double checked the reservation and discovered it was for last night. I called them and they fit us in. Their rijsttafel has 10 dishes, including sea bass. We thought we had to order dessert separately but as you can see, it came with the meal. We protested the size and then wolfed it down in 5 minutes.
